How They Will Work Step by Step

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, our doors, like many other businesses, have been shut to the public. This has been an obstacle for cat adoptions. Coming in and meeting potential feline family members is how adoptions have been done for years. However, necessity has dictated change. We are now offering virtual meet and greets for cat adoptions! Please read the step by step process below if you are interested in virtually adopting a cat from PCF.

1. Get approved as an adopter. When filling out an adoption application, please write the names of the cats you are interested in OR a description of what you are looking for in a cat in the name section of the application.  Go to http://petscomefirst.net/adopt/ to download the adoption application, fill it out, and then send it to info@petscomefirst.com for processing.  If you are already approved as an adopter, you do not need to apply again. Just let us know you have a previous application and what kind of cat or specific cat you are interested in by emailing PCF or calling 814-364-1725.

2. PCF staff will call interested approved adopters to schedule virtual meet and greet appointments. During this call we will talk about the cats and make suggestions for good fits to streamline the virtual meet and greet. We will also discuss the platform that can be used (Zoom, FreeConferenceCall, etc).  We ask everyone to keep in mind that appointments will be limited as we continue to practice social distancing and have limited staff in the building. We will still aim to do what we can to get as many cats into homes as possible while keeping everyone healthy.

3. Virtually meet up to 3 cats of interest. An email will be sent with instructions for your appointment. 

4. Schedule an appointment to pick up your feline friend at your scheduled time, pay the adoption fee, sign the adoption contract, and take your new family member home!
