Giving Tuesday with Pets Come First and Tait Farm
Looking to support local business AND a good cause this holiday season? Look no further! On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2nd, Tait Farm is partnering with Pets Come First to donate 15% of their Harvest Shop Purchases! Open from 10 am to 5 pm, the Tait Farm Harvest Shop has a ton of awesome items for your home and garden or to gift to friends and family — they will even ship them for you!
This year our partnership is going toward our TNR (trap, neuter, release) initiative. We are the recipients of a generous matching grant through the United Spay Alliance to raise $2,000 by Jan. 18th to be matched for a total of $4,000 toward our program! This program is crucial to prevent unwanted feral cat litters. Cats can have 2-3 litters a year with an average of 4-6 kittens — that’s a potential 8-18 kittens from a single mother being born each year with nowhere to go. While we try to bring in those we can, the sad reality is that the number of homes will never match the number of kittens looking. Preventing these litters in the first place helps to prevent the overcrowding of shelters, and every cat we get altered through our program is one less potential litter being born outside.
That’s where you come in. With your generous donations through this partnership, or even just by giving on Facebook during our Giving Tuesday campaign, not only are you helping us prevent these litters but your donation is DOUBLED thanks to our matching grant! Even if you can only donate $10, that is still $20 thanks to our matching grant. And if you shop Tait Farm, you’ll also be supporting a local business — what’s not to love?
Be sure to check out the offerings on their Facebook page, Tait Farm Local, and to stop out on Dec. 2nd! Thank you all for your ongoing support, it means the world to us.
