Curious about what PCF has been up to?
We kept the adoptions going strong, despite the Thanksgiving holiday. 26 dogs, 23 cats, and 3 rabbits – a total of 52 animals – found their forever homes in November! All of our adoptions are special but seeing our three rabbits, especially Matcha who had been with us since April, finally find their forever homes was especially rewarding.
We didn’t have many events going on in November, since we were gearing up for two major events this past week: fundraising for our matching grant and Pictures with Santa.
Our matching grant, courtesy of the United Spay Alliance, is going well! If we raise $2000 they will match $2000, for a total of $4000 toward our TNR (trap, neuter, release) Fund. Thanks to two Giving Tuesday events, an online donation drive and a partnership with Tait Farm Harvest Shop to give us 15% of their profits, we have a strong start toward our goal! Online we raised $751 toward the $2000, with the profits from Tait and some mail-in donations still on the way.
Special thanks to Tait Farm Harvest Shop! Not only was this their idea, they also extended the event into the following day after the snowstorm restricted travel and openings times in the area. If you’re looking for some great local gifts and treats, be sure to check them out in person or online!
If you’re able to help us meet our TNR goal, please check out our donation page online and select TNR Fund, or feel free to send a check/stop by in person at 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA, 16828. If sending a check, please write Matching Grant in the memo.
Pictures with Santa were also a huge success! This event has come a long way since we started it, with newer backdrops and props plus more efficient organization. We were glad to see so many people, and be sure to keep an eye out for this annual event next year. Thank you to all of our volunteers, especially Santa Rod Smith, photographer Ally Stine, and dog wrangler Jamie Smith for doing an amazing job with this event.
We hope you have an amazing holiday season!
